About Me
I am a sculptor and furniture maker based in Barbados, where I have lived with my family since 2010. My work is influenced by the island’s landscape, materials and light, and often explores simple contemporary forms.
My background
My background is in the technology industry, and that experience continues to shape how I design and build. I combine traditional craftsmanship with digital tools, using 3D modelling and scanning to develop ideas and refine forms before they are made.
My goal
Most of my work is produced in my workshop using hardwoods sourced locally on the island. I mill and dry much of the timber myself, allowing me to work closely with the material and ensure the quality of each piece.
The goal of my work is straightforward: to create objects that feel considered, durable and connected to the place where they are made.

"Lindsey Whelan recently delivered a beautiful Tamarind wood dining room table to our home. We chose the wood and decided on a design together months ago and are thrilled to have the finished piece now. It is exceptionally beautiful, solid local wood with gorgeous knotted designs and metal legs. Lindsey was super friendly to deal with and very professional. Thanks, Lindsey."

“Lindsey is an artisan. His workshop is worth a visit. I commissioned him to make some vinyl record storage units which he’d never done before, but he was so enthusiastic and we communicated a lot over the designs before going ahead. I’m extremely pleased with the results. Excellent craftsmanship and service at a really reasonable price.”
